#TrainAndRecover with 1Rebel and Simplyhealth

Last weekend I had the opportunity to try out 1Rebel‘s ‘Reshape’ class and lets just say something definitely got reshaped during those 45 minutes.

Located near Liverpool Street, 1Rebel is a boutique fitness studio and easily one of the fanciest gyms I’ve been too. They specialise in three classes at this location: ROUNDS, RUMBLE and RESHAPE, and all I can say is “Wow.” Teaming up with Simplyhealth and Joe Blogs, I arrived at 1Rebel around 10.30AM feeling fully prepared. I had my gym clothes on already, my water bottle was filled (which I didn’t even need because there was plenty of water going around!) and I was filled with excitement.

How quickly that turned.

Reshape is HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and not for the faint of heart: 45 mins of intervals between a treadmill and weights, and you will finish so fatigued that you’ll sit down in a daze wondering how the hell you made it through. The great thing? Bryony, our trainer for the session, was so energetic and so focussed on us reaching our best, you can’t help but push through. Although I had to pull myself back a bit through the session, I never stopped. Coupled with the amazing music, it was one of the best/worst workouts I’ve had.

The vibe at 1Rebel is amazing, and as soon as you enter it feels like you’re walking into a nightclub. The changing rooms were out of this world – rain showers (with body wash, shampoo and conditioner to use!), make-up counter and hairstyling centre (GHD dryers and hair straighteners!). You’ll have to bring your own personal essentials, but everything else is there to make yourself look fresh again. There are fresh towels, lockers and massive mirrors so that you can check out that six-pack you accumulated. I walked out feeling like a lady again after that intense workout. I looked like I hadn’t even worked out! Flawless, baby.

After the workout, we were treated to Simplyhealth‘s super yummy recovery smoothies. I opted for the Super Sassy Smoothie: Coconut water, spirulina, apple, lemon, avocado, honey, ginger, spinach & chia seeds. Did you know? The chia seed is nutrient dense and packs a punch of energy boosting power. It was really tasty! We were also given a LifeBox packed full of super health foods, clean eats and refreshments.

I have been making more green juices/smoothies as of late, so I’m really excited to try out the different superfood blends. As soon as I opened the box the smell of the Yogi Tea was so wonderful.

I am no fitness pro, but if you want a full body work out that you feel for the next few days afterwards I would definitely recommend 1Rebel. Tips before entering a session: mentally prepare yourself. As I mentioned previously, this is not for the faint hearted. However, if you are truly about changing your body for the better then it’s all worth it in the end.

    Sounds like a really great experience. I don’t think I’d be able to cope with something that intense. I get tired just running for the bus! It’s so cool that they had great facilities inside though – every gym should definitely do that. I think I’d be more inclined to go if I knew it would be like that. Probably just sweaty machines and rubbish showers at the ones near me!

    I do really need to start exercising, however. My attempts at dieting are not going well. I love food way too much. I think I need to start jogging on a morning, so I can keep eating. Life’s not meant for refusing food!

    OoooHOOOoooh fancy post about the fitness program!

    I like the sound of this class! It makes working out sound fun while being in a fun facility. Ugg, I wouldn’t mind showering at the gym if there’s a rain shower installed.

    Good to hear that you’ve been drinking more healthy beverages! Sounds like those things from Whole Foods ;). I started drinking them too and it’s definitely better than drinking soda or any other junk drinks XD… (Alcohol is not included).

    haha, I totally work out to eat 🙂 HIIT programs always sound so intense. I’m not sure if I could do it! That’s awesome that you made it through one, and the gym sounds super nice.

    Yay for making healthy drinks too! Sugary drinks are definitely my weakness. I need to switch over to drinking more tea and healthy juices!

    Oh gosh HIIT. That is so exhausting! Bravo for braving it throughout the session! I need to exercise and go back to do yoga. I feel so unfit after all the walking in London. I miss London and I hope we can have lunch/dinner again soon! Will definitely link your blog xD

    This sounds like the type of work out I need every week – I love high intensity work out and have re-joined the gym recently — and damn, I love the burn let me tell you! It sounds like you had a great/bad time haha! It must’ve been a great opportunity!

    I love grabbing a nice fresh smoothie after I work out, it’s always a great way to cool down all the pain I just put my body through haha

    HIIT is sooooo intense! I’ve done a few sessions and… gah. It kills. It helps to have someone there training you and motivating you. I’ve tried it on my own and it doesn’t work as well. You need discipline haha.

    It sounds like you had a great time though, and the showers sound like a dream! I wish the gym showers at my gym were better. They are so shit I want to be in and out of there in five minutes! I find that they are not very good in general. I’ve not heard of 1Rebel before – I assume they are not in Australia – but I wish there was a gym that good. It looks like you get super motivated with the way the gym looks inside, too.

    I felt pumped just reading this post haha!! ?
