It’s already the end of March. Can you believe it? The year is going by a little too fast for my liking – however, it means the coming of spring and summer and busting out the sandals and summer dresses.
I challenged my best friend the task of styling me some new outfits today, and so we went up to Birmingham to do some ‘light’ shopping. She got me to buy a maxi dress, which surprisingly I like even though I’m not too fond of long skirts/dresses, and I didn’t think I’d be able to pull off a maxi dress because I’m so short but they had a petite section and the dress fell to just the right length. Happy. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may have seen me post a picture of it. She also got me to buy a floral print top with a collar and I chose to buy a jeans jacket, which she said is a new look for me but suits me well. I’ve already bought myself a pair of brown Hush Puppies sandals for the summer, leggings and some jewellery from Forever 21. I want to buy everything!!! I’ll probably post some pictures up soon on Twitter or Instagram.
You’ll be pleased to know I’ve secured some form of work experience! I now write articles for a website called Glitterazi! Blogging is a passion, so it’s fun to transfer some of that passion to a website that gets thousands of views and having people read of my work. If you want to read some of what I’ve written, click here. It’s not a steady thing, but I’ve managed to account 2 days for it, so I only really need to do 18 more days of work experience. Stress. I’ve also applied to about 5 different publishing houses, so fingers crossed. The amount of forms I’ve filled out this past week is just ridiculous and what pisses me off is when they don’t get back to you. Arrogant b*stards.
I got my results back from my other coursework. 59%, which is a 2:2, I’m a bit disappointed and the only reason it’s at that grade is because of the group presentation we had to do. Ugh, I hate group work but I’ll be doing it again next term. I’ll try not to blow a fuse this time. However, I did manage to get 62% in one module and 64% in another, which is 2:1, so I’m quite pleased with that. Those grades are my converted ones from the results whilst in China.
I’ve decided that I want to work in a bookshop. I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of this before seeing as I LOVE to read and nothing would please me more than to be surrounded by books, which sounds sad I know. Unfortunately there are no vacancies at my local bookshop back home in London, but I definitely keeping an eye out. I am determined!
I went to see the Hunger Games the day it came out and I must say it was pretty good. It didn’t live up to the hype that surrounded it, and it was a lot, but I thought it was okay. There were some vital bits that they missed out in the book or completely changed like Katniss’ friend, Madge, and the muttations at the end but you can’t have everything. Of course, the books are WAY better. Although, I recently finished the third book, Mockingjay, and it just left me feeling frustrated. The amount of deaths in the book felt unnecessary and some of the people that Collins killed off was just plain dumb and we didn’t even have enough time to mourn them. GAH. If you do want to see the films, though, I suggest you read the books first!
