I’m not sure how to start this blog.
Oh, who am I kidding? Of course I know how to start. I’ve got my own domain! Excited? I think so!
So basically, I’ve been thinking of getting my own domain for a while now but the hosts I found were either offering but with ridiculous prices or when I applied, they didn’t even get back. For a while, I left it and concentrated on the site I had at the moment.
Then, I found out GoDaddy.com were offering .info domains for $0.89. I was like, “I am soo there!” Just needed to find a host. I researched at Ashpink but they didn’t get back, so I left it for a few days and thought, I’ll find one eventually. Then I came across RigRag. Fudging fantastic. No seriously. I am about to wax lyrical about them. There hosting packages are really good and at a cheap price. At the moment, I’m paying $1.00 a month for hosting – which is pretty cheap, once I converted it into UK pounds. Also, their customer service is amazing. You can chat to someone if they are online and they usually reply quickly. When I was stuck, I just had to ask someone for help and they’d help me (obviously, but you know.. ha.) Also, I’m hosting my best friend, Mutay, as well. I may offer free hosting to the public in the future but for now I’ll just stick with Mutay 😀
The layout for this site was inspired by 2NE1, who are like my favourite Korean girl group at the moment. I spent an age pouring over tutorials on how to do image rollovers using CSS. Once I actually looked at it, it was soo easy! The icons I made myself and the credits will be up shortly, just need to fix a few things first. I need to get validated as well, come to think of it… The site name stoprightthurr was inspired by the Spice Girls.
AS RESULTS CAME TODAY! My school says get there at 12 but usually that mean you won’t get your results until 1.30 at the latest. I mean last year, when I got my GCSES, they kept us waiting for so long. Obviously, my friend and I were a bit optimistic and thought “Okay… maybe they might do this properly this time.” We got there like half an hour early. God knows why… and I really needed to go to the toilet as well! Not good. Anyway, when they finally gave me my results I noticed they wrote my name wrong on the envelope… ha. They had spelt it Cynna. Like my affiliate! Haha.
I basically passed all my exams which means I can continue on to A2 but it means I have to buckle down because A2 are the most important grades as they determine whether I get into the university of my choice. The grades I got were, erm… okaaaayyy. I mean I could have done so much better. I personally thought I had failed my exams but Mutay opened them for me ’cause I was too scared. Seriously, I waited like 1 hour before I opened mine. I got an E in English (E being the pass grade you need to continue your subjects), which sounds really bad but consider this. I got a B in the exam (I KNOW! I GOT A B! AMAZING! HAHA) but because I failed my coursework my mark got put down to an E. I can redo my coursework in January so that mean I can boost up my grade. As I write this I can’t believe that I actually got a B in the main exam. Sheese, that is SO good for me! I got a D in Classics. To be fair, that exam was HARD. I mean 3 hours sitting in the exam hall. Corrrrrr. I nearly died when I did that exam. Media Studies I got a C, overall. Which is my best grade. I totally deserved that grade considering the amount of time I spent on that damn trailer and I pulled an all-nighter to finish my coursework. I know I could have done better but next year I’m definitely buckling down. Seriously, this means I probably be blogging less often and might just update a few times to show you guys my progress. It also means no Facebook. Well, not completely but less of it and the library is going to be my best friend too. I’m thinking of getting a tutor too. What do you think?
I’m happy I got so-so results and not complete fails because otherwise my birthday would be a complete “Ugh!” tomorrow. I’m finally turning 17. I feel so old. I remember the days when I could sit on my mum’s lap and not have her complaining about me being too heavy. I still sit on her lap anyway, but you know. Ha. It’s also my sister’s birthday in exactly 2 weeks after mine (Sept. 4 – same as Beyoncé!) and I bought her an iPod nano. It hasn’t arrived yet but it’s really nice. It’s a 8GB red iPod nano. Expensive but my little sister is totally worth it (:
PS. Happy Birthday to Kim Kibum & Usain Bolt (:
