My Favourite Things: July 2015

My Favorite Things: A Blog Linkup

I thought it would be good to enter the ‘My Favourite Things‘ linkup hosted by Raisa and Eirene, so that I can discover new blogs. It also gives me an excuse to gush about some of my favourite things, at the moment.

June was a hectic one for me, as I started my internship as soon as I came back from New York. I’ve been juggling working at the shoe shop and the internship at the same time, which means I currently work seven days a week. I still find loads of things to do in the evening, so I’m not going square eyed from all the work. Nevertheless, I can’t wait until I get my weekends back!  x_x

As such, I thought I’d post a few of my favourite things from June as not much was happening. Maybe next month’s will have a theme!

I actually started watching Daredevil in May, but with me going away and my boyf complaining that I’m going through the episodes too fast I actually didn’t finish it until recently. In the beginning, I wasn’t too sure of Daredevil, as it was a little slow – but, it did pick up and I have to commend them on their cinematography and action scenes. I love the opening titles. Also, Vincent D’Onofrio is one awesome actor.

Ruby Rose

How does she pretty?

She’s just so beautiful. How could I not include her in my list of favourite things? If you don’t know who this beaut is, this is Ruby Rose. She’s an Australian model, DJ, heavenly host, etc. and also stars as Stella in the latest season of Orange Is The New Black. Literally every time she is on my screen I feel like I’m going to explode. She doesn’t even do much! Good heavens. I remember watching the trailer for season 3 and thinking, “WHO IS DAT, WHOOOO IS DAAAAT?!”

Cross Stitch

“Claire Randall is leading a double life. She has a husband in one century – and a love in another…”

I started reading Cross Stitch by Diana Gabaldon. The story is about a woman who time travels to 18th century Scotland. It features fantasy, romance, historical fiction and adventure and it has me hooked. It is quite a long book and I’m only on part 4, but so far I’m loving it. I also found out it’s part of a series and there’s a television show, too!

The place I’m interning also has tons of books lying about and I’ve already found two that I’m looking forward to devouring reading.

What are some of your favourite things from June?

    That book looks interesting! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. July 10, 2015 / 11:26 pm

So, wait. They turned the movie “Daredevil” with Ben Affleck and Michael Clark Duncan into a televised series? What is it about?

Yup! As far I know, it’s the same storyline – blind man who’s a lawyer and fights crime at night. And they based it more on the comics, rather than the film. Admittedly, I haven’t watched the Daredevil film.

Ahhh, yes, the Outlanders series ๐Ÿ™‚ Not something I’ll be able to read, but it does have a very interesting premise! A friend was telling me about that series. I’m glad you’re enjoying it, though! ^^

Now I want to watch Orange is the New Black and Daredevil more!!! Hope that I would finally find the time to catch up with watching series… ๐Ÿ™

I hope you’re doing well with your intense work schedule. 7 days a week is harsh! Anyway, I’ve heard great things about Cross Stitch but I’ve not read it myself. I need to read more and will read anything, but fantasy and romance typically aren’t my genres of choice.

  6. July 11, 2015 / 8:42 pm

I heard the Daredevil series is great I hear, and I seriously need to watch it. I really do. Don’t overwork yourself now, you hear me?

  7. July 11, 2015 / 11:28 pm

I’m watching Daredevil now! Because I’m rotating between a few shows, I’m only halfway through the series right now. It’s definitely filled with action, haha. I like it so far!

I’ve been meaning to try Orange is the New Black, but I haven’t seen it yet. That book also sounds interesting!

Is that Cross Stitch book a part of the Outlander series? I’ve always wanted to read it but it’s so long, it’s a bit intimidating haha. I have heard a lot of good things about Diana Gabaldon though.

I also miss my weekends! I have a break coming up so I’m counting the days to that.

It is indeed! It is called Cross Stitch in the UK ๐Ÿ™‚

I joined the link up to find some new blogs this month too!

Daredevil was pretty decent and I really loved Vincent D’Onofrio as Fisk too. I didn’t even realise it was him! He played an amazing villain and in turn, Fisk was my favourite thing about the show.

Congratulations on the partnership! Hope you’re doing well with handling the two jobs! I’ve heard of Daredevil for a while and haven’t watched it yet :O. It’s surprising because it’s a Marvel show too @___@. Vincent D’Onofrio is an awesome actor, I remembered watching Law and Order for his character lol!

It’s cool that Ruby has all of those skills and is in Orange is the New Black :D. I’m still trying to get the hang of the show ;).

Hope you’ll have fun with reading Cross Stitch!

I still need to watch Daredevil! I’ve heard so many good things about it. Good luck on your internship! I worked nights while juggling my internship before, and then I had to do cooking and housework when I got home. It was hard but worth it. I’m sure you’ll pull through!
