10 days until it will officially be 2 years of me being in the blogosphere! Hurrah :]
Hello! How are you all? The start of my week has been less hectic than last which I am very glad of. Here’s a breakdown of my weekend and past two days.
Saturday was spent hanging out with Rob because we haven’t had a chance to hand out fully because we’ve both been busy with university and such things. It was nice just chilling with him. We went to town because I wanted find some postcards (more on that later in the post!) and get a birthday card for a uncle (Feb. 19th!) and then we went to this place called Triumph Place where loads of new flats were built. We wanted to look there for a place to live but the concierge who deals with whether there are any places to rent, etc. wasn’t there because it was the weekend but Rob’s friend lives there and we went to visit him. Oh my gosh. His place is AMAZING. He’s pay £850 a month, though, so it’s gonna be amazing, isn’t it? But, still! My mouth dropped open as soon as I saw the place. I could totally see myself living there if it wasn’t so expensive but according to Rob, the cheaper places are nice as well although not as nice. The living room was flipping MASSIVE and the kitchen made the one we have at ours look soddy! Haha.
Sunday was another relaxation day. I lazed around pretty much, watching TV and reading a little bit.
Monday was such a LONG day. Rob was supposed to meet me at eleven so we could do some house hunting but his alarm didn’t go off and I was in town waiting for two hours for him. Ridiculous, right? I was steaming. BUT… he bought me flowers when he finally arrived. So, I gushed and swooned and he was immediately forgiven. Haha 🙂 I’m such a mush. We ended skipping out on house hunting because we were both very tired and just wondered around town (AGAIN) for a bit. I then went to Brogan’s in the evening and ordered Nandos (1/2 chicken, chips and garlic bread for me) as a late birthday thing for her and we watched Glee (Rocky Horror episode) and then Tool Academy 😀 Twas a fun night!
Yesterday, I had a lecture but it wasn’t too long so I didn’t feel so tired like I usually do for my Thursday lectures which are just way too long! We have to do a presentation next week which is “Using the example of a major world conflict or event that has happened over the last ten years analyse how de Certeau’s concepts of strategies and tactics can be used to understand the roles ad functions of the internet and open/social media within this event.” We’ve decided to choose the capture of Saddam Hussein and analyse how people used the internet to have it displayed easily and quickly to people outside the country, etc. Should be interesting but it’s going to be so long to research as well (cry)
Ah, about the postcards! Becca mentioned in her post about www.postcrossing.com wherein you can send and receive postcards from all over the world. Basically you request an address after you register and then you send postcard to that address. You also get a code that the person needs to register for it to be shown that you have sent that postcard. I sent five postcards on Monday and already the one I sent to Germany has been received. The person who received it sent me a message saying she really liked the postcard I sent her. I can’t wait to send more – I have one to send tomorrow, actually. Will definitely post a picture when I receive my first postcard 😀
I bought my Red Nose today. It’s for Red Nose Day, 18th March, which is “Comic Relief is a charity which was founded in the United Kingdom in 1985 by the comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis and Alexander Mendis in response to famine in Ethiopia. The highlight of Comic Relief’s appeal is Red Nose Day, a biennial telethon held in March.” Can’t wait! There are three noses to collect: Honkus, Captain Conk & Chucklechomp. I have Chucklechomp 🙂
Day 24: When you look outside step outside your front door of the house, what do you see? picture if you like
