I say ‘Rizzle’, you say ‘Kicks’…

This week has been good, good, good despite having no job, job, job. Sad times. It seems that every corner I turn employers are just rejecting my applications left, right and centre. Even though I don’t have a job, it’s cool because this week has been like amazing.

Saw some old friends on Wednesday and we went shopping where I proceeded to spend money that I didn’t have but… YOLO. They went off to Kavos on Friday for a week, so I was proper jealous because they were holiday shopping. Sigh. I really want to go on holiday but you know, funds and all. It makes me kind of depressed sitting around the house doing nada. I literally check every day for places with vacancies. I don’t know what employers want from me?!

Also had a dinner date with Mutay and Sham that Wednesday. Went to a little restaurant called Bodean’s near Mutay’s work place. Was very intimate. Haha – no, the lighting was just very low. The food was good but not great and I was upset at their coleslaw. Subpar attempt, my friends. Subpar. Their onion rings tasted like potatoes as well… I’ll give them kudos for their ribs, though. Getting tipsy off a Cosmopolitan and some drink called a lemon drop is always a highlight. Talking to a random guy cleaning the busstop at 11 o’clock at night is another one. Ah, those girls are my homegirls. I love them

Yesterday, I LIVED.

Mutay and I went to Hackney Weekend. Oh. My. God. The best day EVER! I loooove me some music festivals and literally it was so amazing. It was free as well – we were lucky to get the tickets because obviously everybody was trying to buy them the day they were released. Jay Z was the headliner as well and his special guests was Rihanna, M.I.A. and Kanye West. We missed Kanye West though because we had to get home as it was quite a long way to get home and buses and trains and that were gonna be jammed if we stayed ’til the end. Rihanna and M.I.A. were SO good, though! We weren’t expecting Rihanna to appear because she’s the headliner for Sunday’s performance but YEY :3 Apparently Beyoncé was by the side jamming along to Jay Z. So cute.

Our friend from uni, Tilly, was there with her sister and I got to sit on her shoulders, when Jay Z was performing, because she’s quite tall. I LIVED ABOVE THE AUDIENCE, BOY. It was so freaking good!! Just dancing upon her shoulders and aaah, I can’t express enough how much fun I had that day.

Annie Mac was DJ’ing in one tent, so basically letting all your inhibitions free and just dance the place down. We saw Trey Songz who alright but I’m not really familiar with his songs – all the girls at the front were like screaming and crying, though o_O And apparently he took off his shirt and threw it into the crowd and they were fighting over it! We also saw Rizzle Kicks who were beyond amazing. They are so adorable onstage as well, proper in sync with the crowd, it was so good! Ed Sheeran sounds even better live. His voice is so beautiful. We saw D’Banj banging out the afrobeats, everybody was just dancing their life away in that tent. Nicki Minaj was pretty good, too. I know quite a few of her songs so I was like singing along but Mutay was just mesmerised by her arse. Haha. It is rather big…

Seriously, though – amazing day. I’ve got Wireless in two weeks as well. I CAN’T WAIT. Planning my outfit from now!

Pictures to come. All the good ones are on Mutay’s camera.

I’m glad to hear that you had a good week, though job hunting is no easy task. You just have to keep on looking and keep your head up! Shopping with your friends can be fun with or without spending money. Sometimes, you just need to spend some time at home to relax. I’m having trouble finding a basic job myself, sadly :(. I’m glad that you had fun at the dinner date with Mutay and Sham :). At least you have a female best friend! I’m still in that process of having a new female best friend (because the one from high school is… Kind of a jealous bitch).

You’re lucky for going to a music festival! A lot of those famous artists showed up :O! I’d like to go to any music festival like the Electric Daisy Carnival :). If I was there listening to Nicki Minaj, I would probably only know the lines, “You a stupid hoe” XD.

    Take care :)!

Sigh, I saw all of the tweets about Hackney Weekend and I will not lie… I was jealous. Insanely jealous. Looks as if it was a ton of fun from what I saw.
In regard to you applying for jobs etc, just keep positive. It’s hard to stay positive when nothing much is happening after you apply for jobs, but something will come when you least expect it. Good luck. 🙂

Um… you just made me wish for ribs and onion rings… and it’s like 22h00 right now so I have to go and grab some from one of the steak houses one of these good days. lol
