How many times can you watch Mean Girls?

The limit does not exist.

I was invited by Joe Blogs Blogger Network and Currys to The Floating Cinema for an evening on a barge to watch Mean Girls and indulge in popcorn and alcohol. How could I say no?

I’ve never been on a barge before, so I was admittedly a little skeptical. However, I had the most amazing time! For those of you that don’t know, a barge is a flat-bottomed boat – it was definitely a different way to experience watching a film.

The Floating Cinema was created by UP Projects in 2013 and is supported by a variety partners including Foundation for FutureLondon (the charity of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park), Canal & River Trust, Arts Council England, BFI awarding funds from The National Lottery and King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership.

The project has gained a reputation as one of London’s cultural highlights bringing the innovative and the unexpected to a multitude of locations and communities across the city.

The Floating Cinema folks were very accommodating explaining how everything on the barge works and keeping our glasses topped up and our bellies filled with popcorn/sweets.

The film was A**** (eBay review, much?). All the bloggers onboard were quoting alongside the film because Mean Girls is the most quotable film in the world.

“God, Karen, you can’t just ask people why they’re white!”

“YOU CAN’T SIT WITH US!”

“Nice wig, Janis. What’s it made of?” “Your mom’s chest hair!”

“Ex-boyfriends are off-limits to friends. That’s just, like, the rules of feminism!”

“Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimised by Regina George.” (several bloggers proceeded to raise their hand, haha)

I could actually go on for ages, but Mean Girls is one of my favourite films of ALL time forever until the end. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to get any good pictures from the outside whilst we were on the barge but it was such beautiful weather as we were going along the canal.

Overall, I had an amazing time! It is definitely something I would like to do again. It was also nice to meet some new bloggers, as well ๐Ÿ™‚ You can read all about the event on Currys’ blog here.

I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I’ve never seen Mean Girls! I feel like I’m the only person who hasn’t. I really need to watch it, so I’m not left out, haha. That sounds really cool to watch a movie on a barge though. I’ve never done anything like that. I’m glad you had a fun time there!

Wow, that looks like so much fun. Mean Girls is the best film. ‘Danny Devito, I love your work!’ I just want to sit here posting quotes, but I’ll restrain myself.

Glad you had a good time. How do you get invited to all of these events?

It was so much fun! I had to restrain myself whilst watching, otherwise I would talked the whole way through the film – LOL!

I got approached by a blogger network – you should check them out: http://www.joeblogsnetwork.com

I’m with Cat — I haven’t seen Mean Girls! XD; I’m glad you had fun re-watching it, though! I would love to do something like that with some of my own all-time favourite films XD; One of my guilty pleasures with movies is Armageddon, hahaha! I know it’s not the best film out there, with questionable science mumbo jumbos, but it has Bruce Willis, it’s fun, it has drama and humour, it has action, and it has one of the best film song ever XD

Not a fan of Mean Girls, as I am with Clueless. Now, that was the original chick flick movie. ๐Ÿ˜€

Glad you had fun watching the movie.
