Day 7: Your dream wedding.
Oh, chiz. Well, this one is hard. I haven’t been to many weddings but I know I want my wedding to be BIG. Like not to show off, as in BIG because ALL of my friends and family are there – kind of like my 18th but on a way bigger scale.
My mother will make my dress, or maybe my uncle – who knows? I have a vague idea of what I want it to look like, click here. My husband-to-be WILL wear a barong¹. Yeah, you heard me – I’m half Filipino, I don’t wanna escape tradition 🙂 My colour scheme will be either baby blue or pink or something flowery like that. My bridesmaids will be my best friends; I’m not sure who I want my maid of honour to be -_- We’ll think about that in the long run, eh? My flowergirls will be so adorable. My pageboys, as well. My ringbearer might be a dog… Okay, maybe not. I won’t have the traditional music they have for when you walk up the aisle, I want something WAY different – something rockier, perhaps. I’ll figure it out.
After the wedding, we’ll be rocking it up at the reception in THE biggest hall you can imagine. And there will be all sorts of food; filipino and jamaican style 🙂 Just thinking about it makes me hungry.
So, yeah that’s my dream wedding in a very vague fashion. I’m only young – I haven’t thought about it that much (cough).
¹The barong Tagalog (or simply barong, from the word baro) is an embroidered formal garment of the Philippines. It is very lightweight and worn untucked (similar to a coat/dress shirt), over an undershirt. It is a common wedding and formal attire for Filipino men as well as women [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barong_Tagalog]
In other news, I WATCHED GLEE THIS MORNING. I promise, I won’t spoil too much. You’re probably wondering how the hell did I watch seeing as I live in the UK – yeah, well there’s a thing called Megavideo 😉 I love the internet. Episode 1 was actually amazing – brilliant songs as well. I love the two new characters, Sam and Sunshine, as well!
Favourite lines in the show;
Rachel: You’re name is Sunshine Corazon because you’re from the Philippines where it’s sunny everyday!
Sunshine: [blank face] … Except for the monsoons…
Puck: Dude, you’re mouth is huge! How many tennis balls can you fit in there?
Sam: I… don’t know, I’ve never had any balls in my mouth. Have you?
HAHAHAHAHA. Man, you gotta love Glee. I swear, it appeals to everyone! Brilliants songs in there – and of course, Charice Pempengco is a bloody brilliant singer.
I went to meet up with one of my closest friends in the WORLD today for the last time in what will be months now because we are both off to uni. We’ve known each other for 14 years! Yup, that’s all the way from primary school to sixth form! We have been through everything together. I am going to miss her so much!
This is what makes me kind of nervous about uni because yeah, yeah it will be fun and all but I’m also going to be leaving like everything behind. Ah, so scary.
